My son loves his new pullover

The pattern drafting is excellent. I rated this a 4 out of 5 because of the scant sewing instructions. A new sewer would likely not be able to manage this pattern without additional assistance.
I used a couple pieces of French Terry from my stash.

Afghanistan Shirt (2212)

I called this shirt the Afghanistan shirt because I made it out of polartec alpha insulation ( from Discovery Fabrics), the fabric designed for soldiers in Afghanistan to be warm and very light weight. The texture of the material makes the beautiful design lines of the shirt not as visible. I love the lines of the shirt and especially how the sleeves are constructed. I was able to make an adjustment on the yoke/sleeves for a rounded back and it worked perfectly. I should have measured the length before I sewed it up, and that’s why I added a binding at the hemline..it was a little short for my husband. He loves the shirt and I will be making him another.

Great pattern

I only bought this pattern recently, but have made it four times already, in several sizes for my family, as it comes in such a huge size range. The fit is true to size, not too baggy with great arm length. Those who wish to layer it over other garments beyond t-shirt weight might wish to go up a size or two, but I like the closer fit as it results in a warmer garment and doesn't make the wearer look like a sack of potatoes!! The topstitching gives a great ready-to-wear look but still didn't take up too much extra time as it was all straight lines. My only (minor) dislike is the lack of facing behind the zip. The collar is faced/doubled which encloses the zip, but the rest of the zip back, where it is inserted in the bodice part, is visible when the zip is undone and collar opened out. A bit of facing would make this look so much more professional and just top off a fantastic garment. That being said, it is something easily done by many with sewing experience, and it should not prevent anyone from buying the pattern. Be aware though, that this is a unisex pattern, so females who wish more shape to their garments will need to alter the pattern to suit. I love it because the pattern services my whole family without being restricted to just the girls.
