Zip-Front Jacket and Hoodie
- Front pockets in the princess seam
- Self-fabric cuffs and hem bands
- Very versatile design
- In a stretch fleece, it makes a warm outerwear jacket (contact Discovery Trekking for technical fleece recommendations!)
- In a comfy sweatshirt fleece (make sure it has some stretch), it makes a wonderful everyday hoodie for you or your kids
It is a great pattern for color blocking that has been amongst our best-selling patterns since day 1!
The straight sides make it a great pattern for boys and men too. Simply lengthen the bodice and sleeves to make a fitted track jacket for someone taller than 5'6''.

Love this pattern and have made it in a variety of fabrics from mid-weight wool jersey to waterproof fleeces. Must have made at least 20 times. Not sure if the one-star reviewer is an experienced sewist, but the instructions are very clear. 1/4 inch seams are standard for knits unless purchasing from Big4 pattern companies.
Fits great and longer length to keep you warm. Enclosing the front pockets with front zipper allows the option to have inside pockets! I add zipper closure to the pockets sometimes for added security.
This is a terrible pattern, careless and sloppy. The instructions are poor and unclear and the finished result, per instructions, has a scruffy and untidy inside which I would not want to be seen
The construction method suggested frequently results in having to sew through four layers of fabric at once. And then add the zip.
The zip as listed in the requirements was a good 7cm too short so I had to botch the final stages. The pattern diagram implies a perfect fit but this was absolutely not so - and I'm confident that I sewed it correctly.
Furthermore a 1/4" seam allowance is ludicrous when working with the sort of fabrics that are used for a hoodie. The pattern info omitted the finished garment measurements (why?) so I could not tell whether I could take a larger allowance
I sense that this has been made up in a sample size and then scaled up without actually testing the larger sizes.
I have ended up with a garment fit only for walking the dog in the dark. Appalling. Avoid like the plague.
A win! I already have 2 more planned. I predict this will be a TNT for me.
Très beau patron, les surpiqûres donnent un très beau fini. Les instructions sont minimales et nécessiteraient plus de détails pour les poches et SURTOUT pour le zip.
